Course contents :  
Classification of materials according to structure, composition, porosity, etc.. General characteristics (physical, chemical, mechanical and rheomechanical properties). Materials with hydrocarbon or polymeric binders. Materials with hydraulic binders. Silicates,ceramics and glass. Wood. Natural and recycled materials.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Provide the knowledge to be able to select construction materials in accordance with their ability and use. Understand interaction mechanisms of materials with environnement.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
- Oral presentation of materials - Laboratory experiments: about ten tests on bitumen, plastics and various composite materials. - Development of lab results. - Bibliography research projects (group) - Factory visit
