Course contents :  
THEMES : Spation temporal structure and regulation of ecological systems from the individuals to the Landscapes. Ecological methods at the hierarchical organisational level of ecological system. Interactions between human activities and ecological processes. MAIN CHAPTERS 1. What is (and is not) ecology ? 2. Landscape : and ecological point of vue 3. Autecology : the organisms within the environment. Ecological amplitude, adaptation, climate and biomes, ecological niche. 4. Ecological landscape throughout the world 5. Population ecology : what is a population, population structure, population dynamics and regulation, dispersal. 6. Community ecology : community structure, species richness and diversity, the bioidversity crisis. 7. Ecosystems : structure and energy flow, trophic network, nutrient cycling, climate change.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To understand regulation mechanisms of natural ressources with a perpsective of substainable management.
After completing the course the student is expected to
Provide a quantitative analysis of an ecological problem.
