| This course is a first introduction to genetic epidemiology. In order to illustrate the different facets of genetic epidemiology, the course will include : 1. introduction to genetics 2. the different faces of genetic epidemiology 3. population genetics 4. linkage disequilibrium 5. statistical approaches to genetics 6. genetic association, based on population 7. genetic association, based on families |

| To familiarise students with the different facets of genetic epidemiology, with an emphasis on statistical genetics. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Basic knowledge of statistical concepts. Genetic terms will be re-introduced. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| 2nd semester.
The course will be interactive in English/French. All course notes are in English. Homeworks can be handed in in French. Examination will be in French.
