| This course introduces to political sciences and to political analysis of environmental questions. 1. Concepts : politics, policy and polity. 2. Life cycle of policies 3. Political actors in the environmental field 4. Environmental policies and their frames of reference 5. Environmental administration. |

| Understanding of some basic concepts in political science. Scope and problems of environmental policies. Political changes and challenges in environmental policies. |

| Three days each including a lecture and the discussion of a case study. |

Assessment methods and criteria :
 |
| Students will organise themselves in small groups (two or three students). They will realize a case study on a specific problem (urban project, nimby conflict, public controversy). This case study will develop the political aspects of the problem. It will be presented to other students ans discussed. The selection of case studies will be mde in the first course and discussed withthe teacher. |
