Course contents :  
After reviewing basic concepts in marine ecology (biomass, production and productivity, nutrient and element cycles, edaphic factors impact on organisms, ...) and briefly describing marine biodiversity, we focus on three main ecosystems (fully described) : Posidonia meadows, coral reefs and abyssal communities (mainly hydrothermal vents).

To give stable bases in marine ecology

Minimal biology knowledge
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Integrated field work at Stareso oceanographic station (Corsica).

6 times 2.5 hours between September and February
