Course contents :  
The course discusses various current topics in economic policymaking - with a special focus on budgetary implications. Possible topics : Tax policy and fiscal consolidation in Europe and beyond, tax competition, aging pressures.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Ability to extract the essential elements from multifaceted and complicated economic issues.
Presentation and discussion of the main economic policy problems.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Prerequisites Microeconomics and macroeconomics. Intriduction to Public Finance.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Course second semester
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
lectures with student presentations. Participation in classes is essential, and graded.
