Course contents :

| The course will make a deep insight into the "digital turn" of the publishing industry, from author to reader. Each lecture will articulate two points of view : a critical analysis of the digital book industry news, followed by the study of a specific topic. |

| 1. Understanding, thanks to cases studies, its internal (between several economical systems) as well as external tensions (regarding traditional publishing or other medias).
2. Developing in-depth knowledge of the possibilities offered by the digital revolution in terms of books. |

Assessment methods and criteria :

| Realization of an individual or group work on the theme of self-publishing. This work will be given in a written form and into an oral presentation as part of a seminar between students. The quality of written work and oral presentation will be assessed, as well as the ability to mobilize acquired knowledge (press reviews, lectures, required reading) and participation in the debate. |
