Course contents :
| This course is part of the Joint Complementary Master's Degree in Naval Construction. It prepares students to master the basic notions relating to the behaviour of floating and naval structures, and to analyse flows around underwater hulls. The course is mainly composed of lectures with examples and case studies. Students are initiated in the techniques of mathematical models relating to naval hydrodynamics, manoeuvrability and the behaviour of floating structures at sea. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
| This course is part of the Joint Complementary Master's Degree in Naval Construction. It prepares students to master the basic notions relating to the behaviour of floating and naval structures, and to analyse flows around underwater hulls. |
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
| There are specific prerequisites: students must have a diploma in electromechanical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering or similar. For other graduates, their applications are given careful consideration prior to acceptance. |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
| (See previous points). A significant number of practical work sessions are organised (see above). |
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
| See previous points |
Recommended or required readings :
| The course is very specific and has its own sufficiently detailed notes: it isn't necessary to consult specific works. For any students who wish to improve their knowledge, there is a library collection in the field of naval construction, which is regularly updated mainly thanks to the departments own funds. |
Assessment methods and criteria :
| Oral exam: it is composed of questions relating to the elements taught in class. |
