| The green chemistry concept is described from a fundamental point of view, particularly based on the definition of its 12 principles. Some of these principles are detailed and illustrated through selected examples:
- Use of chemical and enzymatic catalysis
- Development of alternative reaction conditions (microwave); energy conservation
- Use of renewable raw materials
- Risk management (environmental aspects and security)
