CHIB0003-1  Analysis and synthesis techniques of macromolecules (biochemistry and immunology)

Duration :  24h Th
Number of credits :
Advanced Master in Biotechnology and Applied BiologySecond semester2
Lecturer :  Daniel Portetelle
Language(s) of instruction :
French language
Course contents :
.Reminders of different immunochemical techniques and antibody production systems .Characterization of macromolecules: case of proteins; - systems for recombinant protein production; - isolation, purification and "refolding" of proteins; - questions related to proteases; - protein detection and quantity determination; .Extension study of specialized techniques: - preparation and characterization of antibodies; - markers used in the labelling of different molecules; methods, molecules and substrates used; - post-translational analysis of macromolecules; - immunochromatography; - flow cytometry; - integration of immunochemical techniques and physico-chemical techniques; - epitope mapping and tagging; - technical approaches of macromolecule interactions; .Practical aspects associated with currently used techniques : Western blot, ...
Learning outcomes of the course :
Investigate the biochemical and biotechnological aspects of the macromolecule synthesis with special emphasis on impact of immunology and immunochemical techniques in the analysis of these macromolecules
After completing the course the student is expected to - understand the principles of the used techniques - integrate this technical approaches in useful protocols for macromolecule synthesis or analysis
