| The course on Molecular biology will allow to the students to discover the basic mechanisms that gover gene expression and regulation |

Learning outcomes of the course :
|
| Allow an understanding of DNA replication, gene transcription, translation and targeting of cellular proteins. This course will also allow to the students to understand important differences between pro- and eukaryotes. On some occasion, we will discover how pharmacological agents can influence gene expression. |

| Text books are Genes IX by B. Lewin (Ed. Jones & Bartlett, USA) and Molecular Biology of the gene by James Watson et al. (Ed. Pearson Education). A CDRom with all the figures shown during the course will be distributed at the first lesson. |

| Studentidentification card will be mandatory to obtain the access to the written examination. In case of non presentation of the card, acces to the examination will be refused |
