Course contents :  
After a history of the concept of "mise-en-scene", the course proposes an analysis of the staging of actions and elements for theatre, cinema and television.
This year, most of the course will be devoted to the articulation between the process of "mise-en-scène" and the notion of film genre.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
  • To sensitize the students to the problematics of « mise-en-scene »
  • To develop analytical faculties of the student.
  • To sensitize the sudents to the complex notion of genre.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
General knowledge of the history and the language of the cinema and the concepts of theatre's history.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
An analysis of one particular film genre is requested from the student.
