| USE OF ARCHITECTURAL MODELS
This course explores the use of models in architecture as a tool to test concepts & hypotheses throughout the development of a project. It investigates the use of these models in the production of images. These images form part of the process and are not a final product.
The course covers the following topics:
- the tools available in architecture to test formal/ conceptual ideas (model, 3d, collages...)
- the exploration of a specific aspect of a project (space, light, materiality, structure...) through models.
-the utilization of models in the production of images (photography, retouching, printing) |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| Develop on the basis of knowledge acquired during the bachelor stage of study :
- in the relationship between 'concept & representation' and 'image & architecture'
- in spatial experimentation
- in the emphasis on the control of different parameters and their synthesis in the development of research
- in the development of the creative potential & critical thinking
- in the experimentation & exploration the different tools of representation & presentation |
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
| - interest in the question of representation and composition
- basic knowledge of photography & 'adobe photoshop'. |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
| Theoretical classes & practical excercises |
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
| Instructional classes, studio work, computer work |
Recommended or required readings :
| Reading requirements will be specified during the semester |
Assessment methods and criteria :
| End of semester presentation of the model produced during the course & the images it was used to create. |
