Course contents :
| In a continuation of the first part of the course, reflection on discussions relating to concepts and theories developed over time, and particularly from the 1970s and 1980s will be developed. Of particular interest will be approaches focussing on the ideas and uses of kinship, as well as work on variations of kinship in different parts of the world, international adoption, "new" configurations of the parent (reconstituted families, medically assisted procreation, etc.). |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| Students will be critically aware of the latest theoretical developments in the subject as well as current debates around it. They will be able to deal with ethnographical information from the field in a critical manner. |

| Students will make a presentation on a theme based on readings and will draft a final written report based on their ethnography (instructions concerning these two exercises will be given in class). |
