Course contents :  
- recalling plant production systems in relation with the main tropical agroecological situations - recalling agroecological constraints and methods to overcome them on the basis of the cropping systems - case studies based upon the biological statut and use of the plant products : annual and perennial plant, food and industrial crops - prospects for the improvement of crop productions At the end of the lecture, the student is able to develop a project on tropical crop husbandry on model plant.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To develop principles of crop husbandry governing plant production systems in the tropics and analyze these principles through case studies on food and industrial crops
After completing the course the student is expected to
-identify the crop husbandry components in tropical annual and perennial crops
-assess the impact of improvements in tropical crop husbandry
-compare different tropical crop husbandries in relation with plant biology
-design a project of tropical crop husbandry within an agricultural production system
