Presentation

This education programme aims to allow people with degrees in dental science to acquire a complete range of skills, both theoretical and practical, and above all clinical experience in the very specialised area of orthodontics and dento-facial orthopedics.

Next to clinical activities, which represent the essential of the educational programme, theoretical courses, demonstrations, case study discussion seminars, bibliographical studies and the participation in research work allowing the young specialist to acquire the experience essential to working as a professional.

Since 2001, the specialization in Orthodontics is officially recognized in our country. The approval as a specialist and the obtaining of a specific professional title of specialist in orthodontics requires having followed an additional training as described in the following Ministerial Decrees :
  • The MD of 11/06/01 (published in the MB of 05/7/01) concerning the general criteria for accreditation of dental specialists
  • AM of 28/05/01 (published in the MB of 10/07/01), concerning the special creiteria of Certified Specialist in Orthodontics
  • AM of 29/03/02 (published in the MB of 31/05/02) concerning the criteria for the approval of General dentist.

This Master programme is consistent with these directives and includes the common core courses (250 h) for the independent professional practice.
A 80 % attendance at these seminars (70h) is compulsory to get the validation.

  • Four years of studies.
