Course contents :  -analysis of the composition -hydrophobicity analysis -data banks -homology search -sequence alignments -detection of functional motifs -prediction of secondary structures -prediction of three-dimensional structures
Course objective :  Show students the statistical methods used in bioinformatics (sequence analysis and structure analysis)
After completing the course the student is expected to
At the end of the course, students must be able to select statistical methods used in bioinformatics
Prerequisites :  Knowledge of amino acids (pKa, chemical formulas, chemical properties) and secondary structures (alpha helix, beta sheets, beta turnings...)
