Holder(s) :  André Ferrara
Language :  French language
Course contents :  The purpose of the course is to familiarize the students with behaviour measurement techniques and with the measure quality issue.
Course objective :  sss
Workshops :  A sample of behavioural data collected in a specific laboratory situation will be analysed.
Organization :  The course is organized in the form of a seminar in which the students are invited to present a neuroscience study, which was either performed by the student himself (for example, during another training course) or provided by a researcher of the university. At the end of the seminar and according to the discussed questions, the students will be asked to write a synthetic report taking the form of a scientific article with the usual headings of this medium (introduction, material and methods, results, discussion and references). The seminar and report will especially focus on a proper analysis and interpretation of the collected data.
Written notes :  For the theoretical part: P. Martin & P. Bateson (2007). "Measuring behaviour. An Introductory Guide" (Third Edition). Cambridge University Press.
For the practical part, all the required documents and material will be provided.
Assessment :  The evaluation is based on the active participation in the seminar, on the oral presentation and on the final written report.
