Course contents :  The course is divided into two parts: descriptive statistics and (an introduction to) probability theory.
Course objective :  Develop statistical thinking and show how probabilistic models can be used to take decisions.
Prerequisites :  No prerequisite
Workshops :  The 15 hours of practicals will be consist of tutorials and of practicals (if computer rooms are available)
Organization :  The courses and the tutorials/practicals are given over the second semester according to a timetable distributed to the students in the beginning of the academic year.
Written notes :  Notes written in French (on the theory and on the exercises) will be available.
Assessment :  The final mark is a weighted mean of the marks attributed to the three following assesments:


- written exam on exercises and theory during the period of examination of May-June.

- practical exam on computer during the period of examination of May-June

In case of absence at at least one part of the exam, the final grade will be set at 'Absent'.
