| Language : | French language |
| Course contents : | Field theory course with an emphasis on quantum electrodynamics. |
| Course objective : | The course has a double purpose: on the one hand, to give a practical knowledge of field theory, so that students can calculate the amplitudes for simple processes; on the other hand, to link field theory with particle and astroparticle physics, and to finish by the definition of charges and masses through renormalisation. |
| Prerequisites : | Quantum mechanics, relativistic quantum mechanics. |
| Workshops : | 10 h of discussion sections. |
| Organization : | The course will have of 1h30, and will be given after the courses on relativistic quantum mechanics. |
| Written notes : | Textbook : M.E. Peskin et D.V. Schroeder, An Introduction to Quantum Field Theory (Addison-Wesley : 1995). |
| Assessment : | Written exam at the end of the year, followed by a few oral questions. |
