Course contents :  10 chapters: symmetries in quantum mechanics, elements of group theory for physicists, representation theory, the permutation group, Lie groups, the orthogonal group, the Lorentz group, unitary groups, gauge groups, aplications to hadron spectroscopy and particle astrophysics
Course objective :  (1) To give a comprehensive introduction
in group theory and their representations useful to physicists and
physics engineers.
(2) To present the basic symmetries of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Field Theory.
(3) To show how the groups and their representations can be applied to physics and discuss research perspectives.
