This lecture is foreseen for students of the Master in Space Science but also in Aerospace Engineering.

This lecture provides an overview of the different space science missions of the European Space Agency (ESA). It covers the various mission parameters to be taken into account for reaching the scientific objectives. The observing techniques for wavelengths ranging from X to far IR are also briefly exposed.
Course objective :  The aim of this lecture is to provide an overview of the context and the environment in which a scientific investigator has to work when he/she is responsible of a space instrument or a space mission.
Prerequisites :  Bachelor in science or engineering
Organization :  3 to 4 lectures (total 10 h) during the first semester
Written notes :  An electronic copy (pdf) of the slides is provided.
