| Course contents : | The course consists in two main parts: ex-cathedra lessons one and practical works.
- The ex-cathedra lessons introduce the particularity of qualitative approaches though successive stages in a scientific research (data collection, analysis & interpretation) and present an overview of selected analytical techniques : discourse analysis, content analysis and grounded theory methodology (GTM). Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS) will also be introduced.

Practical work aims to allow the students to test their knowledge by conducting and analyzing of an interview.

- Supply an overview of methods in qualitative researches.
- Allow an empirical deepening of a particular technique.

| Prerequisites : | Introduction to methodology in social sciences |
 |
| Workshops : | 30 hours of practical work (conducting and analyis of an interview). |

| Organization : | Theoretical lessons and practical work during both semesters. |

| Written notes : |
- No syllabus.
- Notebook of additional readings.

| Assessment : | Written examination for both sessions
The written examination and the and the practical work are each worth 50 % of the global note. However, if the note for one part is less than 8/20, it will automatically lead to a global note less than 8/20. |
