The first part of the course, as with the book, aims to identify the history and perspective of sociology. The second part "Conceptual analysis of social reality" presents sociology in its entirety through three concepts: communication, power and role, by situating these on three levels.
These three levels are: interpersonal, group (or organisational) and societal (macro-sociological).
