Course contents :  Main characteristics of the pastoral lands :
- climates and their evolution in space and time
- present and paleo pedogenesis
- the evolution of vegetation under soils and climates

Case studies :
- extensive farming systems in tropical savannas
- agro-sylvopastoral use of Sahelo-Sudanian regions
- management of upland pastures for dairy production

Non conventionnal species and mini-livestock
Course objective :  Study thoroughly the methods of grassland evaluation, initiate the student to the modern techniques used in pastoral planning and management, and leading to the sustainability of the pastoral systems
