The goal of this course is to provide the scientific elements at the basis of radioprotection. Course objective :   1) to provide the scientific elements which explain the effects of radiations 2) to describe quantitatively the effects of radiations 3) to evaluate the risks and benefits of (non) ionizing radiations 4) to correlate radiobiology and radioprotection 5) to correlate radiobiology with therapeutic procedures after an accidental irradiation 6) to confer expertise for the use of radiations in medicine and industry 7) to compare radiations and other deleterious agents in the environment Prerequisites :   The radiobiology is the study of 2 partners, radiations and living organisms. It is therefore necessary to have basic notions of physics and biology. Organization :   Combination of ex-cathedra lessons and personal research. Written notes :   Copies of slides shown during the lessons and review articles. Assessment :   Written exam with opened questions (chosen in a list given to the students before the exam) and with QCM.
