They will demonstrate the ability to use critical sense and the skills of analysis and synthesis. The quality of the dissertation is not determined by its length. |
| Organization : | The student must submit his or her dissertation proposal to the president of the jury along with the name of the dissertation advisor at the latest by the first day of the second quarter of the first year of the Masters. Each dissertation will be subject to a public oral defence. This will start with a summary presentation (maximum of 7 minutes) during which the student should present the subject of his or her research, the methods used and the results obtained, while highlighting any specific contribution that the dissertation makes. Each committee member will make a commentary on the written work and will ask questions to which the student should reply. |
| Assessment : | Assessment will be based upon the written work as well as its formatting (grammar and spelling mistakes are liable to be penalised) and on the oral defence. |
