| Course contents : | The course « Biopsychology of addictions » is an overview of the current explanatory theories of addiction. It also focuses on the main factors underlying the development of an addiction syndrome. |
 |
| Course objective : | The main purpose of the course is to gain knowledge of the addiction syndrome and of the various abused drugs, in order to train the students to deal with all the problems linked with drug and alcohol consumptions in the various fields of psychology. |
 |
| Organization : | The course is organized in the form of a seminar in which the students are invited to present one class of the main addictive drugs. The presentation will be based on a personnal bibliographic research. At the end of the seminar, the students will be asked to provide a brief written report summarizing the presentations. |
 |
| Written notes : | All the required documents (scientific articles and book chapters) will be provided to the students during the seminar. |
 |
| Assessment : | The evaluation is based on the active participation in the seminar, on the oral presentation and on the final written report. |
