Course contents :  The course is divided in tow parts:
  • Introduction to quantum physics (with experiments on early-time modern physics)
  • Physical and geometrical optics
Course objective :  The aim of the course consists in teaching the processes of interaction between radiations and matters making use of complementary concepts such as physical optics and quantum physics
Prerequisites :  Physics and Mathematics learned during 1st Bachelor

Organization :  The course is organized during the 1st period.
Quantum physics:
Theory: 20h
Lab and training sessions: 20+5h

Physical optics:
Theory: 20h
Lab and training sessions: 10+5h
Written notes :  Note book and slide copies are available (pdf files)

Additionnal syllabus about geometrical optics.
Assessment :  The first session is a written exam which takes place at the end of the 1st period (January).

The second session is a written exam which takes place in Aug./Sept.
Lab reports are quoted; The quotation will be taken into account at a level of 25%.
