| Course contents : | In 2010-2011, the first part of the course has to do with the notion of space and with the question of relativity of motion. The second part of the course deals with the question of determinism. |

| Course objective : | To show how scientifical problematics and philosophical questions can intercross and be mutually transformed. To give an outline of the interest and vitality of research in the philosophy of sciences by the thorough enquiry into some particular questions. To facilitate the approach of scientific literature in this particular field. |

| Prerequisites : | The course "Introduction à la philosophie des sciences" (2d candidature) is a useful but not essential prerequisite. Understanding of this course is made easier by a good command of physics and mathematics at secondary school level. |
