Course contents :  The course aims at getting students used to the method of scientific research in the field of philosophy. It is made up of three parts: (1) documentary research, including for instance the use of on-line resources and of reference works available in the libraries; (2) analysis of a philosophical text with regard to its argumentative structure and use of secondary literature; (3) writing of a scientific paper and learning of formal conventions for typographical standardization (quotations, references, etc.).
Course objective :  The main goal of the course is to acquire some practical skills regarding the use of bibliographical tools, the reading of philosophical texts and the writing of scientific papers.
Prerequisites :  Good command of French language.

Written notes :  Notes will be made available in the first lessons.
Assessment :  Written work followed by oral examination.
