Course contents :  The course covers the production of tv documentaries of various formats (12, 26, 52 minutes or more). We consider issues related to the scripting, including lining-up, identifying participants, construction of a plot, interviewing, drafting comments, shooting and cutting.
Course objective :  The professional practice students are introduced to should serve as a preparation to the more concrete sides of the job. The two main dimensions of the course are the analysis of documentaries and the students' own productions.
Prerequisites :  Good knowledge of current affairs.
Workshops :  Students are invited to form teams of two to four and produce a documentary lasting at least 12 min. They also do some anchoring exercises.
Organization :  The course is taught in the first term.

Written notes :  No syllabus: compulsory note taking.
Assessment :  Students are assessed on their 12 min. documentary. Exercises prsented in class account for about 30% of the final mark.
