| Course contents : | The course is based on field exercises on how to use speech and image in order to best convey information in a news bulletin. |

| Course objective : | The tasks assigned to students lead them to find out about various technical devices, to become familiar with the kind of spirit and environment in which new technologies and speed are essential parameters. |

| Prerequisites : | Being aware of what is going on in the world is a journalist's first mission. |
 |
| Workshops : | Students are to produce a number of exercises culminating in a tv documentary fitting into a news bulletin. In doing this they have to consider all the various techniques from selecting a topic to collecting information, shooting, cutting, interviewing, scriptwriting, etc. Other exercises consists of commenting images, introducing topics, anchoring, collecting informations. |

| Organization : | Students are actively involved in the workshop, both to analyse samples and to produce their exercises. The course is taught on Wednesdays, in the second term. See : http://cipl82.philo.ulg.ac.be/horaires |

| Written notes : | No syllabus: compulsory note taking. |

| Assessment : | Students are assessed on qome of their productions for half of their final mark. A tv news documentary is used as a basis for the other half. |
