| Course contents : | A journalist's primary mission consists in finding information from the best sources: dispatches, documents, experts, witnesses, pieces of evidence, personal files, the Internet... Then the journalist must verify the information, enrich it, support, decode it relate it to other things. By means of a theoretical approach, illustrated by many examples, students will be introduced to the primary methods of finding information. Through practical work students will gain mastery of major genres of journalism (factual accounts, interviews, reporting stories, creating portraits in words, analysis, context...). |

| Course objective : | - Creativity. React to current events by imagining story angles that bring stories to life. - Autonomy. Find the proper journalistic techniques for the subject being written about. - Mastery. Produce journalistic work in today's media, from the choice of subject to final editing. |

| Prerequisites : | - Proficiency in oral and written expression - Active curiosity about current events - Frequent reader of newspapers and frequent consumer of audiovisual media |

| Workshops : | Written exercises will be assigned during practice sessions and these will help prepare students for the final evaluation. |
