Course contents :  This second-cycle course is intended to provide general knowledge for obstetrics, and obstetrical analgesia and anaesthesia, and with regard to neonatology, various clinical aspects involving medical, surgical, and genetic conditions.
Course objective :  The main objective of this course is to provide students with a method of reasoning and the knowledge necessary for the supervision of normal pregnancies, the supervision of an unexpected normal delivery and pathologies relating to pregnancy (mother, foetus and newborn) so that they will know how to react when required to deal with an obstetrical or neonatal problem.
Prerequisites :  A great deal of basic knowledge is essential: embryology, anatomy, physiology, human biochemistry, physiopathology, nephrology, bacteriology.
The in-depth knowledge of semiology and the foundation course for first year students are essential for this module.

Organization :  Classes organised in the form of APP with sessions including clinical examples (ARC and clinical examples). These classes are given during the 2nd quadrimester of the first year of the master's in the CHU auditoriums. See the handbook for more details.
