| Course contents : | This class includes three parts:
-partim paleozoology: evolution of the main vertebrate groups.
-partim paleobotany
-partim micropaleontology |

| Course objective : |
To know the major events in the vertebrate evolution.
- Partim paleobotany: this part of the class describes the evolution of the different lineages of embryophytes (land plants). Emphasis is placed on the Paleozoic groups.
- Partim Micropaleontology: this part of the class will include an overview of the main microfossil groups , the modern analytical methods used in micropaleontology, and their applications in paleobiology, paleoecology, paleogeography, paleoclimatology, paleooceanography, astrobiology, biostratigraphy and lithogenesis.

| Prerequisites : | Basic knowledge of the morphology, physiology, systematics, ecology and biology of microorganisms, plants and animals Moreover, a basic knowledge in geology is also requested.
