Course contents :  The course is an introduction to the study of the relations between microorganisms and the human organism in the perspective of understanding infectious diseases.
The state of health is partially linked to a balance between the defenses of the human organism and the microorganisms with which it is in contact, and the course studies on the aspects of this balance and focuses on the conflict between the involved parties.

Prerequisites :  Cellular biolgy, immunology and genetics. General microbiology.
Workshops :  Practical exercises use technical examples taken from the activity of a biological diagnostic laboratory to illustrate the lectures. This should allow students to visualize in a concrete manner infectious agents and introduce them to containment techniques, contamination situations, and sterilization procedures. A test of the acquired competencies will be carried out at the end of each session. The general grade will be taken into consideration alongside the grade obtained at the theory exam.
The details of the practical exercises will be established with the students' representatives.
Organization :  The course is taught ex cathedra. Slides are used to illustrate the course topics. Students may ask questions during or after the lectures.
Written notes :  Course supports : the slides form the basis of the course notes.
Reference books allow a better understanding of the topics taught during the course.
