Course contents :  Solidification of metals and metallic alloys. Thermal and thermomecanical treatment of metals and alloys. Corrosion of metals . Surface treatment of metals.
Course objective :  Establish links between microstructure and in service properties of metals in relation with the processing.
Prerequisites :  Physics of metals.
Workshops :  Visits of factories.
Organization :  Theoretical lectures and practical workshops during 1° quadrimester.
Written notes :  Lecture notes available  : laboratory MMS (B52 0/719).
Assessment :  Oral exam in January.
