MECA0465-1  Model strength and structural integrity of components
Duration :  30h Th, 30h Pr
Credits/ECTS :
Master in Aerospatial Engineering, in-depth approach, 2nd yearToute l'année5
Holder(s) :  Gaëtan Kerschen
Language :  French language
Course contents :  Verification and validation (V&V) of dynamic models are a key issue for the structural engineering. Verification amounts to solving the equations correctly (e.g., time step and finite element mesh), whereas validation guarantees that the correct equations are solved (e.g., influence of boundary conditions and nonlinearities). The objective of this course is to give a gentle introduction to these two important concepts and illustrate them using aerospace applications (ground vibration testing of aircrafts, satellites and launch vehicles)
Course objective :  See above
Prerequisites :  Theory of vibrations.
Measuring vibrations and identifying structures.
Workshops :  A project will be given to students. This project involves the practical application of the theoretical concepts covered during the lectures.
Organization :  2nd semestre
Assessment :  Grading will be based solely on the realization of the project and its oral defense.
