| Course contents : | Definitions of specific concepts: dangerous machines, danger zones, workplace accidents, accident rate, person at risk, dangers, damages, risks, intrinsic prevention, etc. Essential safety requirements of the Machine Directive of the European Union. EC signage and its meaning. Brief presentation of norms related to machine safety: EN 292 "Principes généraux..."; EN 1050 "Identification et évaluation des risques"; EN 954 "Sécurité de la Partie Commande des Machines et installations" and the New norm (probabilistic approach) for the components and controls of machines. Methods of risk analysis: according to Kinney and in conformity with the norm EN 1050. Comparison and field of application. Mechanical risks: being cut, being crushed, being hit, shocks, piercing wounds, burns, etc. Methods of risk elimination or reduction by means of: safety distances, protective materials, photoelectric gates, duplicate controls, etc. Detailed analysis of risks and means of protection related to: wood and metal machining, automatized or robotic machines, machines for lifting and holding, laser machines, machines involved in games, toys, etc. |
