Course contents :  Thermal exchanges between human and ambient. Calculation of comfort conditions. Analysis of the microclimate. Calculation of heating, ventilation and cooling demands. Air circulation in ventilated spaces, local ventilation through suply/extraction ; global ventilation by dillution. Local and global heating, heat emittors (water-based ; air-based ; radiating ; accumulating). Electrical heating and heat pumps. Air-conditioning systems: central control, terminal units, fan coils, induction units. Air-conditioning of vehicles.
Course objective :  The main objective of the course is to give to the students the required elements to design and operate air conditioning equipments applied to buildings as well as to vehicles. The course is also an illustration and an integration of matters like applied thermodynamics, heat and mass transfers, fluid mechanics and thermal systems
Prerequisites :  MECA0006-1
Workshops :  Similar organisation as for the workshops of MECA0002-1 et MECA0006-1: exercises performed on computers using EES software and laboratories
Organization :  Twelve sessions made of 2h theory and 2h practice. Thre laboratory sessions of which one may be replaced by a visit in a building
