| MECA0028-1 | Aeronautical Structures
| Duration : | 30h Th, 30h Pr |
| Credits/ECTS : |
| Holder(s) : | Ludovic Noels |
| Language : | French language |
| Course contents : | The purpose of the lectures is to introduce the design of semi monocoque structures used in aeronautics. Two domains are studied:
- Structural idealization: Analytical models of wing and fuselage based on thin-walled section beams
- Numerical model of thin structures: Introduction to finite-element model of plates and shells.
| Course objective : | To acquire the methodology required to conduct a preliminary study in the context of aircraft structures. |
| Prerequisites : | Elementary knowledge in
- Solid mechanics
- Finite-element method
| Workshops : | Exercises with TA and personal project. |
| Written notes : | Lectures on WebCt (http://www.webct.ulg.ac.be/webct/logon/247290049001) |
| Assessment : | Evaluation is based on the realization of a project related to the modeling of a semi monocoque structure and on an examination. |
