Course objective :  To teach the bases of Mechanics of Materials
Prerequisites :  Course of "Solid Mechanics"
Workshops :  Exercises sessions, laboratory, homeworks
Organization :  The course is based on courses of theory, exercises sessions and laboratory activities.

  • The courses of theory are ex-cathedra courses. They are taught in English. Time for questions is allowed especially after each lesson or during pauses
  • The active participation of students is required during exercises sessions.
These exercises sessions, in French, are devoted to the solution of problems
  • Laboratory activities (in French) consist in experiments illustrating different aspects of the course. Reports are required from the students.
All sessions take place at Sart Tilman campus.
Written notes :  Book of "Mécanique des Matériaux" by Ch Massonnet and S. Cescotto

Classbooks in French (laboratory and exercises) are available by AEES
Assessment :  Written open questions

Examination mode
Home works
Intermediate test (in French): solution of problems
Written exam (in French): open questions of theory (1 hour) and solution of problems (3 hours)
Authorized tools during test and exam:
- theory : none
- problems : any book
