MATH0251-1  Analysis III, 1st part
Duration :  30h Th, 30h Pr
Credits/ECTS :
Bachelor in mathematical sciences, 3rd yearFirst semester6
Holder(s) :  Jean‑Pierre Schneiders
Language :  French language
Course contents :  The first part of the course is devoted to the local theory of systems of non-linear equations (implicit functions, rank theorem, Morse lemma, ...).
The second part contains a detailed study of systems of ordinary differential equations (existence and uniqueness of local and global solutions, special properties of autonomous and linear systems, dependance on initial conditions, ...)
Course objective :  The aim of the course is to introduce a few significant problems of non-linear analysis and to show how they are solved by modern analysis
Prerequisites :  A good knowledge of basic analysis and geometry is essential.
Organization :  The course follows the official schedule given to the students at the beginning of the academic year.
Written notes :  Lecture notes are available at the beginning of course.
Assessment :  An examination comprising an oral part on the theory and a written part on the exercices is organized in january.
