Course contents :  The course covers the following topics
  • Matrix algebra : determinant, inverse matrix, normal, hermitian, unitary matrices...
  • Linear algebra : linear application, rank, basis, linear independence, linear systems, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, quadratic forms,...
  • Discrete mathematics : mathematical induction, congruence, difference equations, counting, graph theory...
Course objective :  Mastery of the matrix formulation of mathematical problems and introduction to discrete mathematics issues.
Prerequisites :  Algebra of real and complex numbers
Organization :  Lectures : 30 hours - Exercices : 20 hours.
First semester.
Written notes :  Algèbre, E.J.M. DELHEZ (2 volumes in french). Lecture notes distributed by the AEES.
Assessment :  A written test in January. A note higher than or equal to 10/20 gives right to a total exemption for the final test in May/June. Notes less than 10/20 are discarded.

A written test in May/June.

Written examination in August/September (retakes).

Open book exam for the discrete mathematics part.
