Course contents :  The supply chain :Definitions & structures of modern distribution International and Belgian retailing: Retail formats Trends Factors of influence Development strategies An eye on consumer behavior Point of sales settlement and geomarketing Financial aspects of retail Commercial Practices Merchandising techniques and lay out of Stores The Buying function and merchandise control techniques
Course objective :  To help you : Understand different modes of distribution and retail Know the challenges and constraints of modern distribution
Prerequisites :  Good fluency in English
Organization :  Course is an interactive and participative seminar during which we discover various aspects of the retailing business around the World Language used: ENGLISH We perform commented visits of local stores We do some exercises in class: eg on Gross Margin results of stores and other management control tools Students have a group assignment to visit and compare several stores of their choice No exam but oral and written presentation by each group of the results of their visits at the end of the course
