Course contents :  This seminar will study in depth questions relating to French medieval literature (langue d'oïl and Occitan) and will put students in direct contact with ongoing research, through writing original papers and through attendance at scientific meetings of the Centre for Mediaeval Studies, seminars or study days of the Belgian Mediaeval Network...-, all the while making contacts.Theme for 2009-2010: places and scenes in mediaeval literature.
Course objective :  Specialization in Mediaeval Literature
Prerequisites :  Having followed the Philology and Mediaeval Literature course in the General Masters.
Workshops :  For both parts of the seminar (led by A. Combes and by N. Henrard), students will be guided in drafting a piece of written work which will be presented to the class during a study day. The student will create an original piece of work relating to the theme of the course, demonstrating their personal abilities of research and analysis.

Assessment :  The student will be evaluated on the basis of a piece of written work (demonstrating the student's capacity to collate a bibliography and to draft a critical analysis of the subject under study), as well as an oral presentation of the results of the work in class.
