Course contents :  A study of several questions concerning the descriptive grammar and sociolinguistics of contemporary Spanish in its peninsular variations. Class meetings will concern essentially theoretical material, but they will often deal with practical matters, including active class discussion and group work on exercises.
Course objective :  Awareness of phenomena of diatopic, diastratic and diaphasic variation, and development of the ability to analyze and identify these phenomena.
Prerequisites :  Level C1 in Spanish.
Workshops :  Several practical assignments are planned, including transcription and analysis of conversations in Spanish. Materials necessary for carrying out these assignments will be downloadable via the Internet.

Assessment :  May session: doing exercises, course participation, and written exam.
