| Course contents : | This course is aimed to introduce students to dialectal variation. There will be two main parts: - lectures explaining main concepts (dialectology and its object); introduction to Belgoroman dialects (Walloon, Picardy dialect, Lorraine and Champagne dialects); methodological introduction to transcription, linguistic survey and data analyses); - personal work done by each student: he/she will have to introduce one of the ``spots'' of the survey and show what is interresting about it. |

| Course objective : | At the end, student will have understood what is the dialectal variation (one of the aspect of the linguistic variation) and will show his abilities to apprehend it. |

| Prerequisites : | None, even if the knowledge of any dialect is welcome. |

| Workshops : | Exercises (class is followed only by a few students). |
