Course contents :  Basic knowledge of general law, criminal law and criminal law procedure.
European and Belgian legislation in the following fields: definition and interpretation of the concept of drug - drug registration - manufacture and distribution of drugs - information and advertising relating to drugs - medical and pharmaceutical art, medical commissions - open and hospital pharmacy - good pharmaceutical practices in open and hospital pharmacies - specially regulated substances and drugs (narcotics, psychotropes, toxics, other drugs subjected to medical prescription...). Drug addiction and substitution treatments.
General knowledge on the working of the social security system in Belgium (more particularly the insurance against sickness and disability)
Order of the Pharmacists and pharmaceutical deontology
Course objective :  To give the students a sufficient knowledge of pharmaceutical law and deontology, in relevance with their future professional life.
Written notes :  A textbook updated on a yearly basis (in CD Rom form) is given the students at the beginning of the course.

The CD Rom also contains the main pharmaceutical laws and the pharmaceutical code of ethics.
Assessment :  Oral examination with preparation
